About Narin Gylman

Biography

Like many highly accomplished composers and performers before her, Narin Gylman has been immersed in music since before she could walk. Her earliest memories are of playing the piano and improvising tunes out of a deep and spontaneous outpouring of joy and creativity.

Recording Artist, Coach, And Performer

She began piano lessons at the age of six and went on to study music with some of the world’s finest musicians and teachers before becoming professional. A trained classical pianist, singer, violinist and organist, Narin finally settled on the three features that have come to mark her career: an active and impressive recording schedule; sharing her knowledge and expertise with other musicians as one of the world’s leading voice coaches; and performing in concert venues and also cabaret at upscale private and corporate events.

The Music Speaks For Itself

Since the early 1990s, Narin Gylman’s concerts have evolved through a synthesis of her own compositions and her unique piano and vocal arrangements of Gershwin and many other composers. Her dream, she says, has always been “to create a rich, modern, entertaining, and sophisticated singer/songwriter programme that is meaningful to my audiences at every concert”. Her performing style has become so refined that “all I need is a fine, highly maintained grand piano plus quality sound and lighting systems and the music will speak for itself,” she says.

After a respite of several years in the South of France where she was able to compose, write lyrics and arrange music that married the unique qualities of both piano and voice, she has now returned to the UK and made her home in London.

Authentic, Live, Spontaneous And Inspired Performances

In an era when we are bombarded with synthetic sound, computer- and auto-adjusted voice pitching and endless pre-recorded tracks spliced together, Narin strives to meet the primal need of the sophisticated music-lover – to hear authentic, live, spontaneous and inspired performances with improvisation that keeps us in the moment.

Narin trained as a classical pianist, singer, violinist and organist. She is an Associate of The Royal College of Music and Licentiate of Trinity College London.

A composer, arranger and musical director and member of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.
